BRPA joined the CCU Red Sox community baseball team for sliding instruction and a baserunning seminar, helping players and parents build safer, sustainable training habits.

BRPA recently visited the CCU Red Sox community baseball team for sliding instruction and a baserunning seminar. Demonstrations, scenarios and shared concepts helped the team establish safer and more effective foundations for practice.
The Red Sox are a typical community team without a full-time coach. Day-to-day practice depends on committed parents working together. The young players took part in the sliding experience, while the focus and engagement of parents beside the field became just as important to the session.

01 / PARENTS MAKE IT POSSIBLE
When there is no full-time coachparents become a team’s strength
Community baseball is often sustained by parents willing to spend time beside their children. From gathering the team and preparing the field to organizing practice, every contribution creates another chance to play.
During the seminar, parents listened closely to baserunning concepts and foundational training principles. They considered how to bring the material into regular practice so their support could become informed guidance as well as encouragement.
02 / SAFETY AND UNDERSTANDING
Safety and understandingmake the first step
The session centered on safety and understanding. Professional sliding mats, movement breakdowns and simulated situations gave participants a low-risk setting in which to learn the fundamentals.
Baserunning is more than speed. It requires reading defenders, distance and game situations. When young players understand the reason behind each choice, movement becomes steadier and training gains purpose.

03 / EVERYDAY PRACTICE
Turning one seminarinto methods for everyday practice
While the players focused on experience and movement, parents asked about safety, field setup and practice rhythm. Their goal was to turn what they learned into a practical part of regular team training.
Systematic learning does not have to wait for complete facilities or a full-time coach. With clear principles, a community team can build stable, sustainable practice around the resources it already has.
04 / DEEPER ROOTS
Giving Taiwan baseballdeeper community roots
The interaction showed that parents are not only supporters. They teach, organize and accompany young players as they grow. Continued learning can turn that commitment into a strong foundation for grassroots baseball.
BRPA will continue its grassroots outreach through systematic teaching and shared resources, helping more community teams create safe and stable training environments.
When parents learn and practice alongside their children, every young player has a steadier path forward.
